Marty O Hare 3
Cheers everyone. Seems like general view is that they are trainable but need a bit of extra effort and care than some breeds. Sounds as if they can easily be upset when young, so gently and carefully is the way. Anyone have a pure saluki that would retrieve hare's before the ban ? Quote Link to post
maddog1974 0
My beddy cross is getting on a bit now and I can tell he's sore after a run out so its about time for retirement I think, exept the odd run here and their. I really fancy a saluki x grey or saluki x grey/whippet next when the time comes for a new pup. Just wondering how trainable this cross would be i.e recall and retrieveing and would like to hear from people who run such a cross. I realise it's a different kind of dog to a beddy cross and am prepared to put in the time with training. A pic of a saluki we had when I was a kid ; i have 2 salku greyhounds .dont listen 2 [bANNED TEXT] people say about them if you get a pup and trian it proply you wont have no probs .when i was training mine i started in the back garden with a teddy and train recall 1st they can be a bit head strong but i blame the people that own them .they take there dog out once ever 3 weeks leet it of then it go and runs the hole feild and scares all prey away but if you take outa lot and it will learn fast .alot of people i no dont let there dogs of the lead when pups but i think this is very important with sulki beacuse if you dont when you let them off they will go mad so dont make that mistake with them but your thinking about a dog that is born 2 run and [bANNED TEXT] would you do if you was on a lead all the time any way i swear bye my saluk greyhounds good on all quarry take any thing .and if you waont asuper sonic dog get ur self a saluki grey wippet .my mates have 2 and when we go out there dogs are all ways in front of mine bye 30 yards .so now i have started my own breeding .i have just bought a wippet greyhound puppy boy of a well known racing man so i can start my salku wippet grey top dogs .i have put them 2 the test i think there better than the rest.early pace wippet greyhound fastest dog and suki long distance [bANNED TEXT] more can you ask 4 any way good luck with [bANNED TEXT] you do but only 1 thing i would say make sure you get the right breed long distance track greyhound and sprint wippets there the best cross then a coursing sulki then you will have it all not a dog thats on the sofa .good luck any q you need 2 take you can text me back maddog .ps there are pups for sale now wippet greyhound s if you want 2 wait wait till i mate my dogs and come and have a look .
