Your opinion

As you may be aware I am on the quest for a Collie/Greyhound for a protegee.

I've been offered a 50x50 CG. Both parents proven & I know the breeder.

Q] Opinions on 50x50 CG please for rabbitting & occassional fox. Stamina, training & obedience.

Can we confine this to straight forward opinion & not and up in argument amongst each other.

Mines easy to train but needs a lot of attention and can't be just left in the kennel for hours.

I don't really know how quick she is because she has'nt really started yet but i think her take off from standing is pretty good, she's also quite agile.

Shepp

My old man kept 1stx and 5/8x3/8,all his life, and he died at 73.He would not keep any other x.I have a 5/8x3/8 here who is semi retired,no world beater but an efficient worker on all quarry pre ban.My old man kept both, his thoughts were the 1stx more brains and stamina,5/8x3/8 more speed and drive.JMO

From my experience, stamina and brains are rarely lacking in collie/greyhounds, speed will be sufficient for rabbits, whether or not it takes foxes is down to the individual dog, Ive got one who will and one who wont. You cant beat them for general mooching around, but there are faster crosses if you are looking for something that can do a bit more than just rabbiting

General mooching is all the young lad is after :whistling: dont wish to teach him bad habits ,until he can look after his self :clapper::boxing:
