CraignTod 278
Hi all. I've recently mated my ferret, 3 weeks ago, and also the weather has turned hot. Now handling the ferrets today I've noticed the ferret has started losing fur and it's skin has a blue tint. This was not apparent yesterday. Is this a problem that needs sorting or will it go away once she has malted. Thanks to all you ferret genius Quote Link to post
CraignTod 278
She's normally a well looking ferret but today looks rough as a badger arse Quote Link to post

I will keep an eye on she seems well in herself just the discolouration. Quote Link to post
ferret lady 73
Jills usually start shedding their coat around 4 weeks or so after they've been mated. The blue tint is the new coat under the skin. 2 Quote Link to post

Mcdonaldd 0
A special thing happens right before new hair starts to grow. The skin is usually blue (blue mink syndrome) for a few days to a week. This could be because the hair follicles make the new hair pigment. No treatment is required for this normal process.
