Gtbaker369 44
Hi all, I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong lately or if it’s just because I’ve changed my band taper lately but I seem to be rebanding everyday lately. I used to shoot 25-20mm on a natty OTF. I’ve recently made a TTF styles from a chunky fork I got last year and starting cutting bands 30-20. I’m also using a new band jig I made up but believe I have sanded the metal clamps more than enough for anything to cut into bands. The bands seem to be snapping in same place every time, which is just below the tie at the pouch end. I do go through a fair few shots in the evening but I wouldn’t say anything near as many as you would in a comp or along them lines so surely they should be lasting longer? I’m using TBG, 6.5inch (maxed out at my anchor). Cheers guys
Mr Wilkes 2,980
Sounds like simple wear n tear, to be honest tbg is a little dated and imo there is a lot better out there, if you are totally maxed out then the bands will have a shorter life.

What is the preferred band rather that TBG now then?
Mr Wilkes 2,980
Gzk seems to be popular atm
Greyman 28,198
I,m not a fan of the wrap and tuck method as it strangles and cuts through, I keep the off cuts from my tubes and use them as sleeves instead, they last so much longer I use 1745 at the pouch end and the Barnett stuff on the fork ends of my natty,s, if like on the fork in the last pic I have to use a wrap I cut the band much wider around 10mm this also seems to stop it cutting through as fast, unlike me Wilkes I still use tbg as its cheap easily available and has stood the test of time the gzk stuff seems to be getting mixed reviews now and is not as great as it was 6 months ago, but really that's just personal choice

I have heard about it and about the red & white stuff but when having a look cant seem to find anywhere. Do you buy the bands or can you get the sheet to cut yourself?
