walshie 2,804
I've just had a new garage/workshop built and the first thing it needs is lighting. Obviously the more lighting the better, but is there some sort of formula to work out how much light you need per square metre?

hily 380
Bit late now but all workshops I had built had skylights. The corrugated type had a full width panelled with clear sheets. and the apex roofs had the square sky lights every 3mtrs both sides .

Yeah, but for various reasons I can't have skylights so I'll have to make do with artificial lights.
dytkos 17,861
Ask the sparky who's gonna be fitting them? Surely they'll know? Cheers, D.
dogmandont 10,058
My brother put the square LED type that they use in suspended ceilings in his garage, it’s 30 by 30 feet and he put 8 in it and the light is very good.
