gaz 284
I bought a pup off vicky about 9-10 years ago,it had collie, whippet, deerhound and greyhound in its breeding if i remember right.Anyway i wasnt planning on taking one of these pups as i was over the border to buy a bed x grey pup from a fella...but i didnt for reasons i wont go into on here,so as not to go home empty handed i phoned her about a litter i had seen in the countryman,s weekly and she had pups left,so after looking i decided on taking a wee rough dog back up the road with me and a good wee dog it turned out too be too but unfortunally i lost him with a tumor in his chest in his second season so i didnt get to see its full potential but what i did see was very promising with bags of pace and a very intelligent wee dog levelling at about 23 inches taking plenty of bunnies. As for vicky and her fella (his name i cant remember now)they are two of the most genuine, nicest people i have met in the dog game and there hospitaility shown towards me and my brother was grand with all of us sitting up to the wee small hours talking dogs and sharing a nice bottle of whiskey which made the drive back up the road the next day a lot nicer as we had covered a lot of miles driving the day before........a good lass with some good dogs imo Edited December 30, 2007 by gaz Quote Link to post
Guest markbrick1
vicky is a very nice lass, paul who goes around with her is a genuine fella as well but if i wanted a dog for the summer months i dont think you could go far wrong but if it was for the winter months i think i would want the parents to do a little more and to be proven, all the best mark Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
A dog for the summer months Sadly I guess Mark has hit the nail on the head, to some people this takes priority over a lurchers true vocation Quote Link to post

R_Oldroyd 17
Well Mr beddiwhuppet, I like the look of all of these dogs. Hopefully I will be getting a rough coat brindle. I will obviously post pisc of the pup as and when one arrives from the stalk. Regards Roger. I'm no expert when it comes to lurchers always had springers in the past. Hopefully some of the training will be similar. I bought Purdies Progress to get a few pointer and it was well worth the watch. When I look at the pic of that dog I can see collie in the face and a whippet shaped head and the back end looks like a greyhound. Really looking forwards to getting the pup.
