Protection Dogs ?

Recommended Posts

I have often read news articles and wondered how on earth an adult could die as a result of a dog attack. Then ast week I had the opportunity to meet a mali....show bred most likely.....it was the scariest most unstable dog I have ever seen.   It was 'handled' by the most ineffective irrisponsible person who seemed to be in denial about just how dangerous it was, grabbing at people and other dogs alike.  The dog deserved a bullet and the handler deserved a good boot in the hole.

Good protection dogs them Chihuahuas I got my daughter one then that got a protection dog lol

I know a lot of trainers in the security/protection dog industry and the money that gets charged for some right old shit is unbelievable. There seems to be more bullshitters and f***ing idiots in that

Exactly right.Everyone likes the idea of having a dog that can do what you see the Mali's doing in the YouTube clips but the truth of the matter is 99% of people wouldnt have the time or the knowledge

Yes

but I work in an industry where mals were passed pillar to post  Every six months and to say they “will die for you “ is rubbish,

they bond no more or less than any other breed

But that’s exactly what I meant stiff, them dogs have been pasted about and have never made a proper bond. I’ve had a good few dogs round me and out of them all I’ve only ever had a real bond and connection with two of them where I was there everything the rest would of worked for anyone and were happy as long as they were being grafted. But when you get a proper bond its something else.

I've got a Mali, and believe me those vids are a true reflection of the breed., they need serious amounts of stimulation and work.

It would take some bloke to be able to stop one, am sure they do not feel pain. Not for the feint hearted that's for sure, but once a bond has formed they would die for you.

Not that I want to get one, but out of interest what amount of activity and exercise does it take day to day to satisfy a Mali?

Mine starts his day around 6am, and is been worked or stimulated in some form until dark, that's 7 days a week, then maybe every other night he comes out shooting as well.

It's not neseccarily always doing physical stuff, a lot of it is stimulating his mind, even doing basic walk, heel and stay training, it works his mind, he works stock as well, and try to fit a couple hours physical training.

Sounds like owning a Mali is a lifestyle choice!

No not really, I haven’t changed much in my life for them, they just happen to suit what I do
