Hob in season working

I should really know the answer, I’d say no. But does anyone work hobs that are in season , how do they get on? I may need to try

When you say get on do you mean 2 hobs both in season working together or how do they do at working

I've tried a couple of times working hobs in season, they don't seem nearly as keen as they are in the winter.

I wouldn't expect them to as their minds would have been on other concerns. <G>

Any hob iv worked thats just about to come into season doesnt work as well. They still kill and bolt if they come across rabbits but their off their game big time. They mess about more than anything.

That's it exactly, the hob in my avatar is the best worker I've ever had but early and late in the season he was like a different ferret.

Yeah the hob in my avatar is entire but is getting old and has no interest in mating, also got a jill and 2 3 year old castrated hobs which are their kits, all get along fine.

One of my entire hobs will work well all year round, doesn't matter if he's in rut or not, he enjoys being worked
