fred90 3,290
it's a cross I would be interested in and would suit my needs. only thing I would question would be nose. always had beddywhippets and found them outstanding in that department. what are fells like as I have no experience of them? bedo 59
I’ve no complaints about my fells nose never let me down . I’ve had a beddie before and bred beddie whippets. Only thing I can see that a beddie cross has over fell is a bit of height . Maybe a 3/4 whippet 1/4 fell would be better 2 Quote Link to post

I've been wondering about this cross for various reasons I'll not waste too much time on. Done a bit of searching and found what doesn't surprise me to be some well made little lurchers. Selection I found below (you'll have to forgive me if any of these pictures are yours, please claim the photo-credit). An American (Dan I think?) off here has a cracking looking jagd whippet too. Seems to be the odd litter bred, question is are these odd matings intentional working bred stuff or just agility and flyball types? Boggles me a bit why this type ain't happening more. I suppose they are too far away from running machines to be of interest to most. I see them as gritty, small and robust with a temperament that personally I could work with. A greyhound based one would be even more interesting but they're like f***ing unicorns... That last pic is some cracking dog is that a pat x whippet Quote Link to post

But aye, my thoughts exactly. Indeed, gritty and robust are the first words that come to mind! Not specialists at anything, just a type that would be keen for anything, take up little space and be well suited to vermin and rough woods and hedgerow country. Another I found and I think Dan.M's Jagd type. Again from Google. Jeff brumell had something to do with breeding a litter of lakeland x greyhound pups to make what he called snap dogs ,pups looked nice type ,not see one as adult but don't see why they not as good as a bedlington x 1 Quote Link to post
LuckyLamper 55
I still think fell or patterdale crossed to a grey would make handy dogs like a lot more game proven black dogs then beddys about Quote Link to post
