shotup 9
how many of us still use s/s regulary as thier first choice. im the only one on our shoot that does and rarely bump into fellows of the same breath. most if not all seem to be over and under men.i shoot an old C G BONEHILL that is a mint on shoot days and have a spanish for rough and foxing etc and quite happy with the pair of them. Simoman 110
Mines an old Spanish Lauroma. Does the job on a variety of game and I prefer them to O/U. Although I usually get the dinosaur jokes when we are out. Quote Link to post
bshadle 5
I own four s/s, two 20s and two 12s. One of each is choked full/modified and modified/improved. I love 'em and they're the first out of the cabinet. Nothing matches the lines, feel and handling of a s/s IMO. I sometimes get the dinosaur jokes as well. I tell 'em dinosaurs were the undisputed rulers of the earth for over 50 million years and it took a catastrophe of Biblical proportions to wipe 'em out, so I'm honored to be compared to 'em. Ratman2 2
I have an old LIG SbS 12bore that I use for rough shooting and sporting clays and I love the old thing, paid a massive £30 for it. Quote Link to post
mad al 146
These were the only choice when I had shotguns and wouldn't hesitate buying another as a first gun Quote Link to post

Good quote. S/S every time, traditional! Quote Link to post
rossandjet 0
I have the best of both worlds with a Winchester 23, it' a traditional s/s but with a very high rib and it shoots like an o/u. I love s/s but this is the only one that I have felt at ease with. Quote Link to post
nelson 0
Seams a lot of us Lincolnshire lads have them then. I have an AYA for trying to be posh with and an old Baikal non ejector for Fox control, choked tight as feck and is often reffered to as my Baikal rifle by those who are just plain jealous. I got it from Coppins for £20, 9 years ago and won't be without it. Quote Link to post

My side by side also came from Coppins, it's as rough as they come but I love it, and it's put plenty a meal on our table. Quote Link to post

No, i don't like the c*nt Only joking , i normally go to Colin's at Wragby when i'm out that way but i don't spend a great deal on shooting stuff, BB's, 1's or the odd 250 box of 4's for what i shoot toward . My lad manages to spend more than me, have you seen how much .410 cartridges are Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
A mate bought a S/S 410 this weekend, about £6 for a box of 25 he said Colins at Wragby, isn't that the tiny shop run by the old boy? Quote Link to post
