Born Hunter 17,751
I believe this marks the first british death in this conflict. Thought that was thread-worthy. Not sure details, sure the DM or Sun have articles.

Apparently he wasn't the only casuality so quite possible. One of three or four dead iirc, the others Americans. Edited March 31, 2018 by Born Hunter

Meece 1,957
Wasting our best young talent in a situation that we shouldn't be involved in. Just use a cruise straight up through Assad's front door. It would have saved tens of thousands of lives and years of misery. Why do we keep getting involved. What did / do we get out of iraq, lybia, Afghanistan or Syria? Its just a mess that we keep stirring up. We moan about Muslim attacks on us but what would we do and think if a foreign power came and dropped a bomb on our towns and villages killing out friends and family.
scothunter 12,609
You have a point meece but it's way past that stage now. These c**ts just like murder and mayhem. The wars over there are just a convient excuse to justify it. There religious nut jobs
Born Hunter 17,751
FYI they're not fighting Assad, they're fighting IS. As worthy a war as there ever was imo. Edited March 31, 2018 by Born Hunter

WILF 46,634
Agree with my brother in somuch as that lad will have been doing exactly what he wanted to do......what better way to check out. I dont personally think we should be involved in the likes of Syria, Libya blah blah blah but I have learned that it has nothing to do with lads wanting and getting to do the job they signed up to do. Personally we can talk about IS when they start nicking the scum at home instead of kissing their arse and making the odd token arrest 1

WILF 46,634
If we are weighing in on the subject I don’t personally think our government has gone to war for “the right reason” since the first Gulf War. When it comes to our outstanding troops, I think they ALWAYS go for the right reason. They without fail always go and make some good happen even if the reason for them being there is highly questionable. They showcase the last bastion of everything that’s good about Britain. The wars themselves?, lies and bollocks dreamed up by politicians who’s sons and daughters will never have to go and experience the sharp end of the mess their esteemed parents create ! But particularly those who have lost their lives in it, like Sgt Matt Tonroe, and would have their contribution called "a waste". Mate I don't think this is the place to get into a debate over the ins and outs of this particular deployment of British troops and a comparison to all that preceeded it. We'll all just have to accept that I support this one and plenty other do not. Cleaning up a shitty mess that 'we' started.
