Guest oldskool
couldnt believe what happened... just in the door from a nights lampin and it ended with me carrying my wee dog home... she was green as hell on the lamp but learning fast and tonight, of all nights, i was really impressed by her... she nabbed 4 out of 4 rabbits (not alot i know but they are a bit scarce) and a bit of a walk later she caught her first hare.... then on the way home she coursed another rabbit and next thing i heard a bump in the hedge... it was just over a slight brow on a hill, i could only see the top of her back running back and fourth then thump!! i waited for her to come back and she never appeared so i walked over and found her belly up with her tongue hangin out an awful purple colour... she hit a concrete water trough and must have broke her neck?? i threw her over my shoulder and had to carry her the whole way home my heart felt heavier than she did ... alot of time and effort has been wasted but what can you do only start over again... she had a few faults, she would have threw a few yips when a course was hard and she was difficult to train (i found her to be anyway) but she had a lot of good qualitys like dash of speed and stamina and generally a really nice dog... ah well, like i say what can you do only keep at it ... sad thing is i was plannin on takin a few pics of what she had caught tonight but i thought f**k it i've walked miles and there will be other nights Quote Link to post
