I have just started mole trapping, been interested in it for a few years but never taken the plunge. I bought myself a few duffus traps and some putange traps. Watched a few videos on youtube and give it a go. I am doing a farm doing a farm in walking distance  from home were i walk my dog. I am really enjoying it and catching a few, more success with the putange so far, i like them better at this stage. Looking forward to the winter now to get a few traps out, ordered myself 50 more putange traps.

Forgive me mate, cause im really not having a go at you here,........but what youve said here regarding the Putange,........illustrates, & says it all for me, really !!!  ?   (i genuinely wish you well, with your mole trapping)

You’ll have some nutter along in a minute telling you not to tell anybody else or accusing you of trying to profit from giving out advice ?

You mean Saint-Kevin?  The so-called professional mole trapper who obviously worked for nothing and never made a penny out of the job. The guy who joins a public forum and then berates anyone who discusses snaring, trapping & pest control - the object of the public forum  ?

Its only mugs like McWhinnie who buy two traps for twenty quid and then moan about the price. ?

Everyone else is bright enough to contact the seller direct and negotiate a better deal.  ?

Pathetic !,.....Complete & utter 'backtracking'  now , from yous !! ,.........other folk had too pay £20 for a pair too,....so whats the negotiation  ? ,.....as long as you place a larger order,...a discount applies or something  ?,.......get too f**k !

I have just started trapping moles, i find interesting. I been around hunting and countryside all my life and i though i would give it a go. Like i said i bought either type of trap to try and i have had more success with the puntange trap. As far as i know i am setting the duffus trap correctly and have caught in them. Im just enjoying something different and helping a farmer friend out who lets me hunt and shoot on his land. Just as a bit of interest what does my post illustrate to you? you have to learn somehow, trial and error for me i am afraid, ATB.

There are some professional mole trappers who would prefer to keep the dark art of mole trapping secret from people like you who just want to trap a few moles and not go into it full time with full and paid for accreditation from the self-appointed Guild. They are living in the dim and distant past.

How many of us do our own decorating, or service our vehicles, or know someone who will do that for cash in hand? How many have looked on youtube or a specialist forum to find out how to fix something?  Anyone who has never taken bread from a tradesman's mouth step forward now......................  What - nobody?

That is modern life and it is only the old fossils like McWhinnie still cling to what has long gone.

I have been a sheetmetal worker/ fabricator /welder for 40yrs and have done all sorts of things to help folk out and freely pass any knowledge I have on to anyone who would like to learn and who treats me right, same as fishing hunting or whatever I’ve always been the same, anything else is alien to me. I just enjoy life the best I can doing things I enjoy, no issues with me on any subject. As for learning things, everyone has to start somewhere, there isn’t a fella been born that knows everything. ATB.
