im about to genralise here....but i dont really think a first cross between a mal and a whippet is going to be much use to most lurcher men,,of course there will be exceptions in a litter but on the hole...they might make terific hedge busters ,,bushers,,flushers and retriving shot game whilst birding...

but i think you need the hight that a greyhound will bring if it was a genuin first cross...or better still a 3/4 runner cross mal...i personly think would be better suited to most lurcher lads...

now i like the sound of the litter that is being talked about as its not actualy a first cross but a 3/4 grew cros mal...and that litter bunnys bred lurcher cross mal....the future could be enhansed further by mating again to a lurcher or coursing bred dog or grew either way i think you would get a terrific lurcher....

That's the way I'd go tomo...I'd like to see Brego over a nice strong grew mate:thumbs:...I think a 1/4 Mali would be plenty

I see where tomo coming from but I feel they would be just ticket in small areas where the cover his woody copses etc  these three quarters will bill little turbos ,with durability the malli puts a type of robust strength that collies of old were rewnowned for ,but sadly his harde ta find these days malls tough has teak .the nest we bred Ben brego  cryuff  Mia and little bella ,razor  well fa me the little bitch bella definitely the bitch from the nest she getting stronger all the time flushed long ear in three minute conclusion positive outcome single  coursing dog no ways small handy edible jukel she's getting there. Electric ofthe mark with loads a top end plenty enough ta flush long ears where theydont get no peacedayor night seen her run she pleases me each outing rabbits she kills overtheholes in cover woods fast grassy tiny places she with out doubt has the genotype from whims stock but there yas go  the all mostly doing a job , butt little welp was reserved in my mind fa that Young lad  he don't know what he got  but he puts the mileage in cycling her to venues  or walking. she will fill a boot on her Todd with more experience and age wee bella and yes tomo yas right and she will be in all probability be going to a Ozzie bred coursing animal with fast up at em brill in cover and been killing threes and firs all winter ..atb bill

Morning, taken a step back from quad bikes and hounds - Don’t need the grief anymore. Having moved house my country has changed, curious of those that do hunt the hills with their lurches and a terrier at your heel, how do you bring them on? Getting the right dog for the job is no brainier but what about the training? Thanks.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect
