smithie 2,443
i wood get rid of that grass and have longer rows of everything you decide to grow. no point in letting the grass take from the soil what a plant for the table can have....
gnipper 6,564
I've got 2 types of corn in now, shallots, turnips, parsnips, carrots, 3 types of onions, broccoli, courgettes, pumpkins and cauliflower. I've got a tray of beetroot to plant out and then I think I'm about done. The lad I'm sharing with started planting some of his stuff yesterday so it should be full in no time.

gnipper 6,564
A few things are doing ok now. I'm going to try and get a load of stuff dug into it for next year so it's less like dust.
KES2 171
Peas are a useful crop. Apart from tasting superb, (mine never get boiled), they fix nitrogen in the soil and used in rotation provide food for next years crop as well as excellent compost material - dont forget the compost heap - any chance of a cheap greenhouse - lots of people let them go for nowt if you disassemble (usually when they first have kids), try the local paper ?
