dogmandont 9,818
Slow dogs round these parts aren’t going to catch much in the day with small fields making up most of the ground, if they ain’t up an at em they ain’t going to catch much. Quote Link to post

two crows 3,342
speed is important, and knowing how to use it is more important, dogs that go all in every run may look impressive but cant keep that up for long, I have known people who have been in dogs a long time and haven't learned nothing speed is all ways the answer to these, a fast dog with a good mouth they all ways say that MIGHT be ok on bunnys but hares rarely fall for that look back at the waterloo cup one run up the field an knackered. I go with that two crows right running long ears the run don't start till the dogs on it ,the y know when the pressure his on and act accordingly a clever runner with skills my favourite boxing cutting ground out making the long ear. do the running its bred in to the best animals and comes through in some the best coursing hounds the best I seen run all have these traits and have the gears ta get back to them ,the all out sprinters his taking us back ta the seventies in coursing dog terms those were the types we bred coursing dogs from ,seems like the ban his taking us a step back in time.atb bunnys 2 Quote Link to post
sandymere 8,263
Horses for courses. Pick a dog to suit the ground, quarry and numbers. Plus what the owner likes, I like a bit of pace it's how I prefer to see a dog run. Its finding the right degree of speed endurance then giving opportunities to develop some experience of how to use the gears. 2 Quote Link to post
