Popular Post johnrussell84 2,832
Well it’s that time again where the dogs are slowing down. Me and Ewan are just mooching now rather than having actual outings. Last year we spent our fishing time chasing the salmon and blanked all year ??. This year I have him a member on alittle rainbow and brown sindicate. He has the basics to learn with nothing fancy and we are building a box off flies as we go. Well open day was Saturday and he’s 13 now so am not needed he takes off his own way and likes to try his own style as he calls it. 3 degrees rain and wind saturday was freezing but he bagged 3 rainbows. Kept 2 for his mum. Yesterday we snuck out after mother’s day duties. On arrival there where 3 older fellas who although swore on repeat spent an hour showing him where to fish and how to use different flies and he managed 7 his biggest 4lb he was over the moon. Watching him on the water it’s as clear as day he enjoys the dogs And loves new places but his heart secretly lies with a rod 18 2 Quote Link to post

He’s been everywhere invites to poaching to night fishing . Outdoor sports ain’t for my youngest but I honestly couldn’t ever see Ewan being indoors 2 Quote Link to post
jok 3,253
Eh up John. Happy New Year. Same as you but with my grand daughter. Not hunting and fishing mind you, but down the garden. I've given her a plot to get on with and she loves it. Wants me to start something at school as well. Having said that, I've joined a local fishing club and in the past three weeks have re-stocked with just over 800 fish. We start on the 18th and I think I'll be having some company. Stay lucky. Jok. darrren 414
Happy days. I try getting my nephew out now and then with me. He do love fishing but he is hooked on the ipad as well unfortunately. I think between hunting and fishing, fishing is where my heart is as I u took it up myself about 11 with nobody to show me and learnt as I went. At 28 now I got a shit load of books, gear, a few 30lb carp under belt and some big game fish from Cuba. Give me a rod and a box of maggots any day over a ferrari and a jacuzzi. At mate. 1 Quote Link to post
