mole trapper 1,693
Evening folks. Looking for thoughts on the above as a choice for fox work? I never shoot beyond 150yds , anyone who owns one of these able to suggest suitable fodder too please? Thanks, Jamie. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
My son has one. He uses V-max 53gr ammo. Very accurate and hard hitting. I use the same ammo in my Tikka. Quote Link to post

Stavross 15,935
My mate feeds his with off the shelf 55g v max for fox, you can push these way past 150 yards with little to no scope adjustment as they fly fast and flat, IMO there’s no better fox dropper off the shelf, but to be honest, no matter what you put in it it will drop a fox where it stands ? 2 Quote Link to post
Phil9 2
I have the same rifle and love it?I use factory loads of sako 50g ballistic tip,, and have taken many a fox over 220yards no problem, so at 150yards it would be like plinking can with air gun,, mines a synthetic stock aswel so very robust and good if the weather turns bad.. Hope it helps your decision ? 2 Quote Link to post
mole trapper 1,693
Thanks for the input everyone. Picked it up today. Unfortunately they didn't have any 53grn hornandy so I picked up some 40,s and some 50grn Norma. The hornandy were doing clover leaf groups at 100 yds easily. So far happy with my choice. mole trapper 1,693
Got back from work today and treated myself to a few more rounds at the target. Three shots in and a magpie startled by the last round lands in a bush not thirty yards from the target....... It won't be doing that again! Quote Link to post
