Best advice I've ever had is never to lose your temper. There will be times when theres steam coming out of your ears but if you can control yourself you'll have a better dog in the end.

I've been beating for the first time this year and am amazed at how some shooters treat their spaniels, if I did that to my 2 they wouldn't come near me.

Great advice mate, I was 10 when I was given my first springer, it would never have even entered my mind to beast the dog at that age, and she turned out to be a great little worker for me. I know that’s never going to produce the results and the bond I’m after ??
