Imagine my surprise last year when I saw a vulture fly over my house in avonmouth, not once but two evenings on the trott, turned out I was not hallucinating it was a lamaguire vulture with a 9ft wingspan, they recon it was a young bird from a release program in Europe that had got lost, a pretty amazing spectacle especially the distance it could travel without flapping its wings

We've been filing up the bird feeder with mixed corn twice a day during this cold spell. Normaĺy every other day.  the poor devils are under strain so I am giving something back for the enjoyment that

Last year we had a dry spell that killed a lot of trout in the local reservoirs. A lot of fish died and were simply floating along the shoreline. They feed purely on carrion so to see dozens of them hopping along the bank and lifting the fish out of the water was Hitchcockian! :laugh:
