Sibbsy 4
Hi all, so i've heard alot of good things about a chap called Dave Price or "Wonkey Donkey" and his tuning kits. Does anyone know how to contact him or suggest an alternative, i have a Hw 95K .177 which is very twangy but new, any input appreciated thanks. 2 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,811
Mitch (villaman) will be along soon mate he speaks very highly of wonkey donkey he will have all the info you want . but a strip and polish and a vortex seal will sort it no end mate get in touch with Si Brown off hear and he will help you sort it He has just done one and iv shot the rifle fecking awesome and a fraction of the price of a drop in kit Some times they just need a de,grease and a re,grease to sort them more so when brand new . As they come from the factory with a protective grease in them and this needs to be removed and re,greased with a good grease . also give the barrel a clean out as well as the same protective grease is in the barrel as well . atvbjimmy 2 Quote Link to post
vizlauk 1,568
As jimmy has said, get in touch with Si Brown off here, the lad has a talent, I’d say watch this space, he has the ability & the equipment to make something of his talent! 1 1 Quote Link to post

Sibbsy 4
Cheers chaps for the input, still a bit surprised that the rifle requires some tweaking from brand new but i intended on tuning it anyway at a later date. Quote Link to post
philpot 5,035
Now there is an offer you can't refuse and a wealth of experience to go with it. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
si brown 8,486
never used or shot a wonkey donkey but I know villaman rates them and he knows whats good and not! its down to how confident you are when it comes to pulling stuff to bits and using power tools! if you fit the donkey smooth out all the machined edges /slots on the piston and main body and watch you dont wreck the piston seal when passing the square lugs! good luck with it cos there a mint riffle when sorted 2 Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
I've never tried one of Daves kits but, he does have a good reputation. I've had a fair few TBT bits. They're excellent value and they always do what it says on the tin. Plus, the service from Nick is excellent. However, I'll chuck in another vote for Si I've got an SFS tuned 77 - Si's own 97 that I fired is easily on a par. Also, if he can tame a feckin god awfull snappy little shitbag like an HW57 like he has, I'm well impressed 1 1 Quote Link to post

mattwhite 1,993
I will just add that at the moment I am glued to Si's own hw99s that he has fettled and it is the dogs? A sub £200 air rifle that shoots like one 3 times the price?? 1 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,811
My last hw97k was some thing else and was pcp accurate with no and i mean no recoil fitted with a full v,mach kit welsh willy trigger and v,mach safety polished with in an inch of its life . boy was it good in fact if Sean had to use a 97 it was this one and he hated the 97,s she was that good . I did not think any other 97 could match her and iv shot 1000,s of them that was until i picked up SI,browns 97 HONEST lads (Jon,,,Matt ) if you ever get the chance to shoot this rifle grab it with both hands your MIND is about to be blown away . A spring rifle is a spring rifle and is not supposed to shoot like this we all strive for perfection and we very rarely achieve it we get close but not fully , But SI has with this rifle and many others . atvbjimmy 1 Quote Link to post
Sibbsy 4
I never thought springers could shoot so well, i think im in for a treat when i get my 95 tuned! 2 Quote Link to post

There are a few good lads on hear Sibbsy who are good at it Si Brown ,,charlie caller to name but two of them and a few more but to do it your self is the way to go 1,satisfaction known you have achieved it your self 2,,saves you money 3 ,,to learn and get to know your rifle inside out you just have to bite the bullet and go for it . atvbjimmy 1 Quote Link to post
si brown 8,486
Like jimmy said above if you do it yourself you’ll learn a lot about how your rifle works and maybe even come up with your own way of tuning it! Theres loads of lads on here who can help you out with any questions if you get stuck? The 95’s probably one of the easiest to sort out whith the best results 1 Quote Link to post
