Foxgun Tom 75
As some of you may be aware a young friend of mine was injured on New Years Day while out foxing, with members of the Scottish Working Terrier Club and the Scottish Working Dog Association. Alexander (Zander) Kerr 15 was unfortunately hit by a ricochet from a shotgun which penetrated his upper torso and right eye, (Zander was not Shooting and still has a number of pellets in his body, which will have to be removed at a later date??.) he has since had, his right eye removed. His courage and attitude, have got to be witnessed, to be believed, his main concern since the accident, has been for the Terrier Man who fired the accidental shot, who incidently is inconsolable and distraught. The boy !! all last summer, at game fairs and shows throughout Scotland was at the forefront and canvassing for the retention hunting with dog's. He is determined his recent severe disability will not stop him in his Fieldsports career, as a result of what's happened I and some friends are helping Zander by encouraging and supporting him in anyway we can. Some of the Countrysports community have also gathered round and donated books, video's. Invites to events and shows to help the youngster on his road to recovery, if you would like to help by donating similar , contact me by private message or E-Mail. If you want to donate cash?? details are below Many Thanks Tom Message to all who take part in Countrysports Zander is a wonderful example of courage and dedication to his-sport, he should be an inspiration to us all!!. Sadly, when the shock wears off and the publicity fades, he will need to come to terms with a grave disability, and we should all be doing what we can to help Accordingly, by agreement with Tom Parker "Scottish Working Terrrier Club" and The Scottish Working Dog Association, along with Tom Chalmers aka "Foxgun Tom", I have set up a bank account to raise as much money as we can for him. Please, please, send a donation, however small, to me at Netherholm, Nether burn, Larkhall ML9 3DG, making cheques or postal orders payable to "SAC's ZANDER APPEAL". IF you would prefer to make a donation in cash, please phone me on 01698 885 206 or E-mail me ianclark@netherholm.sol.co.uk and we can sort out some way of collecting the cash safely Ian Clark Ian Clark Vice Chairman The Scottish Association of Country Sports.
