Hare numbers

For all the hare pros could someone tell me how common it is to see 7 hares in a small feild plus three more on the lane beside it .while i was stalking Sunday I came across them I no there is lots of hares there anyway as at least a dozen broke out of a little plantation this year hunting the hounds just curious is all thanks lads.

Yeah worth a look not into running them more rabbits it's ireland by the way before everyone shouts.cries. nice to see them even in the wood there's a few good numbers in it.

We’re almost in March the Hares are getting frisky that’s why your more likely to see groups of them.

Yes its not uncommon especially in areas that are protected by keepers or have hare shoots which is sickening to watch I always enjoy watching them box and chasing each other at mating time

Yeah very nice to see them never bothered up there out of the way too much of a walk for less I guess and farmers a bit odd wich helps I guess nice to see so many

Don't see hares in big groups like 20 plus years ago, but they do have a habit of appearing on land where they've been absent for years at times, saw some hares boxing In northumberland a few weeks ago, always used to be the windy nights when I'd see hares congregating other than the spring

11 is the most in one field I have seen this season. They seem to be everywhere this year. Same as badger been seeing a lot this year. 

 

Nice to see em about. Like Katchum I enjoy just watching them with the kids.

I once counted 17 almost sat together,blowing a gale and hammering with rain,field might been 50 acres or more but they was all in one corner guessing taking shelter provided by the large conifers on edge of the wood line which cut the wind down,great to see.

I can see a field from my house that holds a dozen most days but last week just before day break we looked in one field with the thermal on the shoot that held 45,the field is about 5 footy pitches big.
