mazperks 18
Hi, I was wondering if soft jaw spring traps were legal or not for foxes. Like many others I'm having little success with a cage trap. I was watching a vid on the tube of a bloke catching and releasing one ,and it just ran off no problem. 'Dirt hole' spring trap sets as used in the US seem very efficient at catching, as theres nothing to be seen by the fox/coyote. Quote Link to post

mazperks 18
Ok, thanks. With regard to snares, Ive never used one for foxes, they havent got to be locking have they, so does the fox have a good chance of slipping free? Quote Link to post
cragman 2,791
The snare is designed to hold the fox until it can be dispatched humanely. When a fox stops struggling the tension on the snare relaxes, once it moves again, tension is taken up, so a fox shouldn’t be able to get free. Quote Link to post
