lindleyjohn123 3
Is it just me that likes them? I've seen huge amounts of negative comments towards the red wolf limited edition but no ones seen one in person? Let me know what you think, im interested to hear everyone's opinions https://www.airrifleshop.co.uk/products/daystate-red-wolf-serie-rosso-limited-edition?variant=5978558070811 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
It does bear a striking resemblance to a Cometa Lynx mate, I like that, but two and a half grand for an air gun I dont think so, anyone who pays that for an air rifle is off their head in my humble opinion. 2 Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
Ye its a fancy Cometa Lynx, seriously I have owned one and had it apart, and at a glance that Daystate shares a lot of very similar features, ok I accept it should be better made, from better materials, and it is electronic oooooooooooh, but I repeat, two and a half grand for a poxy air rifle, I bet every one of those stands Daystate at about £500 all in, again in my humble opinion, its a ludicrous price, but each to his own I guess. Rez 4,961
Seen a bit of this of recent. Its a good thing, the tech and the advancement in air guns and so on. But this is sooooo aimed at the those across the pond, and its destination is no doubt a bench - Where it can stay clean. Theres no way that will see a rainy night with a lamp on the rabbits, or, in and around a slurreh pit on rats. Looks expensive. Like CC said, 2+k is a lot... for an airgun, and it'll only group as well as them half the price if not more. 2 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,002
I agree this is a US aimed piece of marketing and if electronic air rifles are your thing, great but not for me although the Wolverine R looks a better bet. I would say the lines of these guns are very pleasing but I simply do not trust Daystate with my money to give me a quality product. If I were to spend a lump of cash again, it would be a sub 12 FX Impact to join my fac version and still have a slab of cash left over. The fact is that my pension will not run to another gun of this value so it is only my active imagination that even lets me consider buying one Phil Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,557
Realistically, what is required to accurately shoot vermin/ targets with sub 12 ft/lb rifles ? I have two FWB Sport " spring powered" air rifles over 40 yrs old that cost £250 and £270 each that more often than not put 8 shot groups inside a 5p target at 40 yds - what more would an air gunner need unless they were in high level competition shooting ? 2 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
I can sympathise with a man wanting the top end kit in any sport/hobby the best golf clubs, best fly fishing tackle, top flight push bike etc if thats your thing, but I just cant see this two and a half grand rifle being any better performance wise than many quality pcp rifles I could list, costing a quarter of the price, as much as I like my air rifles, I would never consider spending what I personally think is a ridiculous amount on an air rifle, as I said each to his own, and its your hard earned cash and you are entitled to spend it on whatever you like, but quite how they can dream up a £2500 price tag is beyond me, even though the trade price will be considerably less than £2500 how many gunshop owners are going to want to stick all that cash into something to sit on the shelf for ages in the hope some hapless fellow comes along and wants to be relieved of £2500 when they could have 3 or 4 quality rifles that they can shift for a similar outlay, I cant even see the Yanks wanting to spend all that on an air rifle, when they can have something equally or far more powerful air wise, than that. Just to add to that Charlie.....what happens when a numpty like me who can forget to put batteries in his lamp drives an hour to his rabbit perm only to forget his battery pack or has forgotten to charge it for 3 months.........no trigger? Or is there a manual backup? Quote Link to post
