whats the best food for lurchers

We had some bloke come down from london to fill up a tranny with tripe to take back because there £12 each up there.sheep heads too 200 a week just thrown away.

Sheepsheads the food of the gods for dogs imo. Can’t be beaten. Clean teeth,strong jaw, good back. Heads, beef and tripe is as good as you can get in my opinion.

Mine strip it right back to clean skull,nothing left on it and not much waste skull either.as you say bit of time and workout with it too.

Feedin mine meat veg n abit of rice or pasta at minute with a mix of gain 28 n Millie's 20% mixed in they seem to do well on this combo also give em lamb ribs n offal once or twice a week..

Never used to feed tripe got put off wi tripping over tons on it at hound kennels when I were young but after bill h said about it a lot gave it another go mixed wi me usual lamb throwts reckon it does um good

Six quid for 2 pounds of tripe sounds a bit dear to me. You should look for a slaughterhouse that'll sell you whole unwashed tripes (15 to 25 pound weight usually?) or get to know someone who works at a slaughterhouse.

I buy waste from butchers who slaughter their own animals and from a chicken plant I used to work for. Lamb necks and ribs free, chicken necks 5 euro for 10 kilo box, beef hearts fiver each, pig hearts a euro, minced trims 3 euro a kilo etc. etc. etc.
