Sheepsheads the food of the gods for dogs imo. Can’t be beaten. Clean teeth, strong jaw, good back. Heads, beef and tripe is as good as you can get in my opinion. 3 Quote Link to post

After all Chappie is the best for settling upset stomachs but would hardly be classed as a quality food. Variety is an important factor and adding in table scraps along with some meat/bone once or twice a week is a simple way to cover this what ever you choose. At the moment I use Aldi dog food as the basis along with about an equal amount of scraps, meat/bones etc and find the dogs have done well on this. The fussy eaters seem to be happy with https://www.aldi.co.uk/earls-premium-moist-%26-meaty-complete/p/066302029013901 . Not used it myself but a few lads I know use that moist n meaty from Aldi sandy n say the dogs do well on it.. Quote Link to post

You should look for a slaughterhouse that'll sell you whole unwashed tripes (15 to 25 pound weight usually?) or get to know someone who works at a slaughterhouse. I buy waste from butchers who slaughter their own animals and from a chicken plant I used to work for. Lamb necks and ribs free, chicken necks 5 euro for 10 kilo box, beef hearts fiver each, pig hearts a euro, minced trims 3 euro a kilo etc. etc. etc. Edited March 22, 2018 by Maximus Ferret 1 Quote Link to post
