Guest Navek
Right lads and lasses just got in and noticed that the dogs eye is white . At first I thought it was just light relflection but it’s only in the one eye . When his pupil goes large it’s like behind his pupil is a milky white colour .its not like cataract where it white over the top of the eye it’s like it’s in side his eye behind his pupil

TAXI DRIVER 549
Trauma to the skull/compression to the brain can cause the pupil in one eye to be different to the other.Has he had a bang to the head ? You`re doing right getting him to the vets.
dogmad riley 1,348
My old lurcher had something similar turned out the dog had a stroke. Think she lasted 3-4 weeks after been diagnosed. Hope it's nothing like that though but get it to the vets ASAP. ATVB.

Meece 1,958
Let's hope for the best for you all and mostly for the dog. Whatever it is, it isn't normal. Be strong. P.s. what breed is the dog? Any news yet? Edited January 20, 2018 by Meece update
Guest Navek
Had him vets today they said his lenses in his eye has moved it could be due to a nock or worse it could be hereditary lens luxation which he we eventually go blind in both eyes , he's got go back in acouole of days to see if it has got worse , it could be that it has been nicked out of place and that it could stay that way rest of his life and be fine,, hes a terrier

Meece 1,958
surely if the lens has moved position in the eye the dog in effect is blind in that eye because it wont be able to focus or see anything other than its light or dark. if the lens stays there then surely the only way to re-position it must mean some sort of eye surgery/ operation with all of the risk of complication. lets hope for the best. I had a dog that had a small scratch on the cornea and in the end the poor dog lost sight in that eye. I thought that it was the end of the world but the dog carried on with one sighted eye and it didn't seem to affect its hunting and retrieving ability and it lived a long normal hunting life . Lets hope that the situation gets better. a link to the mentioned condition. https://www.willows.uk.net/specialist-services/pet-health-information/ophthalmology/lens-luxation Edited January 20, 2018 by Meece
