dutchjozef 111
We have a 30s thats downtuned to 5.5 fpe. We never intended to use it as a long range rifle. So I shortened a maccari spring and made tight fitting guides for the rifle. Its the rifle my wife uses for shooting matchsticks and splitting cards at 15 meters. The rifle has a bullbarrel, and I added a piece at the end of the stock, per my wifes request (see picture). But you know how women are..... she now wants to take this rifle to the range and shoot it at 50 meters (55y). So I ordered tinbum guides and a stock 30s spring at a gunshop. I hope to gain 2 fpe and still have that docile shotcycle. Anyone tried the 30s at 55 yards? And if so... what power did the rifle produce? Cheers 4 Quote Link to post

mattwhite 1,993
Sad to say I've not owned one Josef but you have done a lovely job on yours. Looks very nice ?? Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Has anyone shot with accuracy to 55 yards range on such low muzzle energy as 7 ft/lbs? No, not me either. The rifle looks very well cared-for and customised Josef. You say earlier in your introduction, this one is .177 calibre... But, 55 yards target-precision accuracy with only 7 foot pounds energy? In a breeze/crosswind? It sounds a pretty tall order. It would be good if you could come back and tell us how the rifle and your wife, if not, yourself got along with doing it. I somehow have a sneaky suspicion you'll do it alright with a .177 rifle. All the best. Simon Quote Link to post

dutchjozef 111
Ill sureley keep you guys informed. Ive got the parts in the workshop, just need to find some time to fit them. Sadly the range is closed during the winter months. In november we had the last shoot..... only 5 shooters were there. And no pcp shooter at the range: just us springer guys. I reckon that tells us something about the difference in the mental-setup between springerguys and pcp guys. - just saying Quote Link to post
si brown 8,486
id rather watch paint dry than spend a day at the range with a pcp Jozef! its a tidy looking bit of kit that 30 2 Quote Link to post
dutchjozef 111
Ill make some better pictures of the 30s and will post it here Quote Link to post
dutchjozef 111
Ok, here are some additional pics. Its been modified for 15 meter top accuracy. Its sort of on par with the 300s. Personally Id like the whole to be a tad heavier. But I cant argue with my wifes results. So externally we will leave it as it is Quote Link to post
