mattwhite 1,993
Well I managed to find a quiet spot when the wind dropped and tried out the FAPs v AA fields at 32 yards from a bipod. Hardware of choice! First up, AA Fields. Then the FAPs And then a couple of close ups of the two. AA Fields on the left. For me, the AA field just take by a midges bo*#ock but there really isn't anything in it. Cheers for reading lads?? 4 Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
Can't argue with that Matt I'd go with the AA Fields and be pleased that there's a decent back up pellet available if it's ever needed. 1 Quote Link to post

j j m 6,539
good shooting I like air arm fields in most of my guns 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,557
So the same results , virtually, Matt, with those two pellets. Do try again on the accuracy between the two, in a breeze mate and check which pellet is least affected Happy testing 1 Quote Link to post
si brown 8,486
there both lights out shots them matt.... not much in it at all but were I live its normally windy or at least breezy so I tend to go for heavier, my 510 and 100 aren't brilliant at distance with the jsb heaveys so ive bought a new tin of aa fields and the same but a daystate variant! if I manage to get out tomorrow ill be happy with them groups atb si 1 Quote Link to post

That was my thought about the wind over here. Even the f#*@ing trees grow at a 45° angle! I've been tempted to get back on the biz mags that the 100 loved but that's sacrificing flat trajectory. So far, the fields have done a good job out to 50 yards so I will stick with them and like jon said, they are a bloody close back up pellet?? 1 Quote Link to post

No. 32 was as far as I could get out to this afternoon Mitch. Do the FAPs perform well out at 60. I've had cracking results with the AA fields at 50 odd? 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Fap in .22 are fantastic even at 60 yards . As you know i use AA Express in .177 7.9gr in my HW100k and to me this is the best pellet from close range to long distance 60+ yards and very good in the wind . I must get a tin of FAB in .177 and give them a go . How do you find them in the BSA mag ,only asking because AA express can jam up in the mag if you don't push in far enough ? Quote Link to post

The fields pop in the mag no problem at all. The faps take twice as long to load with them being shorter and I've got big daft fingers so they sit half in half out until you give them a little tap. It's no big issue at all really. I will take them out tomorrow because I'm on a rabbit perm hopefully, so I can give them a whirl at some targets at range when I'm finished? 1 Quote Link to post
