gnipper 6,427
Didn't chipper have one off Jeff and he rated it or was it someone else? I've only heard of a few over the years on here but the people who had them were happy with their working ability. Quote Link to post

Really nice looking dog there... Not seen a Burrell dog i've not liked to be honest. I've always liked that type and dispite the flannel on the lines 800 year old history, line bred lurchers of that type are a rare thing. I'd take a punt on one before many other types... Exactly my way of thinking. Get past the spin which tbh he doesn’t really need to do and give one go 1 Quote Link to post

Yes he is eccentric but thank god we are all different it would be a pretty boring world if we are all the same. I have a bitch from his ‘type’ not directly from him though but he likes to still be involved with what’s going on. I don’t buy into his sales pitch but I like the way his dogs look and are put together. She has a good temperament and is intelligent and quick learner. The only problem I have had with her is she is a bit nervy but she is getting there and improving all the time. This could be down to lockdown and me being away from home working and not socialising her enough. He has said to me any problems with the dog he will try and help out as much as he can for the dogs life. This season will be the pups first and hopefully it will be turn out well. Probably no worldbeater but that’s will be more to do with me rather than the dog but hopefully we’ll have a bit of laugh. I hope everyone has a great season. Lot of folk think the litters Jeff puts up in cmw are bred by him but that's not the case as most are bred by others who keep this type . I've always liked the look of them and maybe once me old dog gone to the big lands above I'll get myself a pup . Good luck bud for this season. Atb mooch 2 Quote Link to post

Both his and his brothers dogs are in Walshes Lurchers & Longdogs book and if i recall right it says they are line bred types there. 40+ years of history right there and then the family history with the line takes them far beyond any line i know of, without going into the Norman conquest type bullshit. It's a lovely type and look built to put gear in the bag and given a keen owner i'd bet they'd do just that..! Quote Link to post
