Blueboybilly 164
Got my first ferrets this year and noticed that the Hob was scruffing the Gill this morning. At first I though that he was trying to mate her but when I got her out of the hutch I noticed that he had wounded her and she has a scab where it looks like he has done it before. The ferrets are ‘this years’ and the Hob hasn’t been Vsexed yet. Does anyone know what I can do? Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,426
He's coming into breeding condition and it's only going to get worse. Vasectomising him won't change it either he'll still have the urges. Quote Link to post
Blueboybilly 164
Okay understood - so what do I need to do then? Separated them permanently? Quote Link to post
The one 8,467
Either his balls have dropped the most probable as the hobs come in before the jills or hes assessing his dominance Quote Link to post

tsteve9999 456
Have you only got 1 jill? I've never needed to separate mine but I keep 3 jills so the hobs not constantly ragging on 1. If the hobs much bigger than the jill put a sleeping box in with an entrance only she can get in, then she can get some peace when she needs it. 1 Quote Link to post
