A lot of people don't want to sit and eat anymore. Everything has to be done at a breakneck speed. Costs go up, wages aren't exactly matching so it gets pretty cutthroat as a lot of these places are cash only to avoid the revenue. I'm not saying they don't have their place but it's just one of those traditions that aren't evolving.

The mug needs to be oversized though and the tea needs to be Yorkshire Gold. Black Pudding needs to be from Bury. Being at a 5000-mile disadvantage I have to do this myself. Luckily I have an excellent butcher. Saying that I frequent a couple of excellent Yank diners that can hold their own with the motherland. What's the bacon like in America? For me Has to be good bacon, sausage, black poodig, fried mushrooms, runny eggs, tomatoes fried or tinned. and a good fried slice and crusty bread at the least!

The rot set in when all the old owners retired or were priced out, what a shame used to love going to the cafe on a regular basis

South hams hunter 8,938
This is the only place I enjoy a breakfast from, it' only 7.50 anyway if you want to sit and savour it. All food cooked properly as you come in and a proper tea that gets refilled if empty.
