Underdog 2,337
Decided to go lamping on foot tonight. Crunch crunch crunch on the frozen ground! I walk a few miles tonight and am worn out! Got busted by one and heard a dog fox in the distance so headed that way. When I found them it was a small dog and a large vixen. The dog slipped away but the vixen hung around, she took some stalking what with hedges, closed gates, mud and frost. I ended up with a 70yd chest shot to the front. The Hornady 30grn put her straight down for good. A smart vixen just coming into season. A fair size too. U. 3 Quote Link to post
toxo 160
Good work U. A bit of hard work usually pays off in the end. Do you do any calling or just stalking? 1 Quote Link to post
Meece 1,958
This is good fieldcraft and the end result was a shot at 70yds. All to many times I read of shooters who claim that they can't get closer than 2 to 3 hundred yards. If consideration is given to the wind, background and lay of the land the distance to the target can be reduced. I have then sqeeked them in to the other side of a ditch and the other side of an apple tree. 1 Quote Link to post
