September never been before and don't know if its the best time to go as it was the only time me and the wife could get time off work and we had booked an holiday in Crete before this holiday.

Split and it was absolutely awesome... cheap as chips, great food and the people are fantastic

I didn't travel around much tbh but from what my ex who lives there and the backpackers I met were saying, it seems so...

The whole country is steeped in about 3000 years of culture mate. From Macedonian to Greek to Roman

I tend to stay away from tourists, so I went to split out of season
