.223 52gr Amax 1 in 12 Twist

Anyone using 52 Amax in .223 with a 1:12 twist barrel what powder combo suits your setup best?

53gr V-max if that's of any use. 24.0gr N133.

Good results Walsh? I'm currently using N130 with the 40vmax loads, I could never get the 52 head groups as good in my setup with same powder..

I've tried a few different loads with 50, 53 and 55gr v-max and also tried some H322 when I had some, but 24.0gr N133 under the 53s is bar far the most accurate group-wise.

I used CFE 223 in all the loads for my .223 (40gr thru 55gr). It yielded superb accuracy. I don't know if there is any CFE left around now though.

I might try some 52amax with Varget also, only tested it with N130, the groups were ok though.

My memory isn't as good as it was, but doesn't the 52 grain A-max have a boat tail, and the .22 cal V-max bullets don't? If this is the truly the case and you are getting some odd results then perhaps this is a contributing factor?

I'll try some N133 and Varget and see what the results are like when I get chance..
