Gravy 18
Hi, Have been given a job for mole trapping in a 10-acre field, but for a client who uses a land agent. They require a copy of my insurance - no problem there, have 5 million They also need my risk assessment and method statement, now not too sure what this actually entails. Can you help please or pm me any examples? ATB Gravy Quote Link to post
Devon Minnow 152
It's not to hard to do. Method statement is how you are going to do the job. For example. Address of trap site. Map of area. Date of your visit start/finish Survey the area for possible trap site. Probe ground to locate mole run. Excavated ground with spade, trowel, knife or what ever you use. Clean out run ready to insert trap or traps. Set trap or traps. Cover and mark trap site. Check traps every 24hours. Removal of all traps Nearest hospital Risk assessment is basically is there any hazards to. 1 The environment. 2 Other land uses ie trip hazards caused by your activities. 3 To livestock ie digging hole causing possible broken legs to livestock. 4 Risk of catching non target animals. 5 Risk of personal injury ie trip, falls, trapping your own fingers. 6 Possibility of damaging services ie water pipes, gas pipes, fibre optic lines and electric cables. Even thou the are minimum depths that these services are supposed to be install at I have hit quite a few electric cables just inches under the surface. Remember what ever you put in writing you must follow cause if anything goes wrong it can be used against you because you didn't follow your own method/risk assessment. There may be other things I have missed, once you have done one method/risk assessment they become straight forward. All the best and I hope what I have written has helped. 3 Quote Link to post

LuckOrJudgement 437
I have twice been asked to sign a 'gagging' document before a mole job which states I will not disclose or discuss anything that I see or hear on site, but never for a method statement. I was told the otherday by the housekeeper for one rich customer to "turn my back" while she entered the combination on a gate lock. Is that land with public access? Or do they have race-horses on it? Quote Link to post
