Sorry to read this Lee, i had been following the pups progress. Sometimes , despite all our best efforts fate deals us a shit hand. I think it's bad form and timing for people to be having a dig. We weren't there . Chin up mucker.

Rabbit,  sand is not easy digging. You have to chase the sand.  It rolls fast! shows you haven't worked sand much.. It could and will bury a dog fast!

Don't know about where you are but there are lots of different types of sand not all runs like on the beach

Had a day out last week and the dog bolted a large Charles and went back to ground straight after with the pressure on him . It was alot bigger than the dog and the wasn't a bark . Even though the dog has years behind it, I wouldn't say the experience of the ground made no odds to the dog on this one

Sand is easy digging. I've dug tons of sand earths. Are you in Britain?

Lozzer,  you can hit sand just about any we're.  But if you know the land and area then you should know somewhat to expect.  And rabbit no I'm not in Britain.  But sand is sand. It's either mixed or not. It' like working with BBS.  Once you touch it you better start working and working smart. Alot of folks wouldn't know how to deal with the sand giving way and how to move it. Off this thread not gonna make it a battle field over an opion
