Blue Planet 2

This sunday evening, BBC 1.

Loved the first series, really looking forward to watching this! Not much on the BBC I bother with these days, when David Attenbourough finally stops making nature programs there'll be nothing I'll want to watch on there..

Funny you should mention this. I picked it up from the Blu-Ray bargain bin at Wal-Mart Saturday afternoon. Someone had mistakenly marked it up for $7.88. I think that's worth £5.97 of anyone's money in this day and age.

My brother got me the Life Collection box set for my birthday a few years back and I must of watched them all 10 times over. Can't beat a bit of Attenborough can't wait for the new series, they've been filming it for 4 years!

I'm really looking forward to it. It's filmmaking at it's finest!

some of it is staged.the BBC have admitted it.

the film crew put 1 camera in the middle of a desert and a harris hawk just so happens to catch a rodent right infront of it.what are the chances.? :blink:polar bears filmed in a zoo and passed off as wild and more.

They filmed the polar bear giving birth in a zoo because it would have been impossible to get that footage in the wild and honestly who cares? It's not like they're staging stuff that wouldn't actually happen in the wild and they go to incredible lengths to get actual wild footage whenever possible, it takes years of dedication by teams of top wildlife cameraman to get the footage for these series.

They could do it all in studios with green screens and CGI for all I care anyway it wouldn't stop me enjoying it!
