mark williams 7,558
Once you have found the pellet that " delivers" with your air rifle, - change absolutely nothing, - " period" ! 3 Quote Link to post

just-A-snap 1,269
Let the rifle do all the work and as Jonjon said practise, practise and more practise. And mark wiliams is spot on, the grass is never greener if you are getting the results. Why fill onse head thinking that it is so instead of concentrating with the good results one already has?Above all EnjoyAll the very best overrun Edited October 16, 2017 by just-A-snap 1 Quote Link to post

Rez 4,961
Good choice me old China plate. Good choice. Not one to go against the grain, but mines never had its barrel cleaned, though it is stripped twice a year, and pretty much puts any lead within half inch at the usual distances. That includes 19grn hunter extremes. Kindly sent to me from Si. It's utterly run in though. Coming on 7 years old. H&N FTT's 5.53 seem to be the dome of choice in mine. Can't fault it. Or them. Of all me bits, I'd keep the 97. 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Its a 22. Where's best place to get cleaning kit? Like the gun. Think this could be fun. I would respectfully suggest you try supporting your local gunshop for kit like accesories, cleaning material and pellets etc. You can always rely on the internet of course, but, I'm keen on supporting good old fashioned gunshops. There are one or two poor robbing sods in the trade that aren't worth your custom of course, but that's their look-out in the end. If the people in your local gunshop are good, friendly and decent and helpful, it's worth supporting their business and they can often return the compliment by helping you out with kit, put a rifle or a scope aside to help you pay for a better gun. Maybe give you a bit of discount into the bargain. Plus you might have what you need there and then, no postage charges and no waiting around for the postie to roll up. All the best. dayglowfrog 56
Read the article on shooting springers on this site it will get those groups down faster than anything else. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I would suggest Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums as a good starting point. HW .22s seem to prefer a 5.52mm head, the weight at 14.3 grains is not too heavy, they worked well in my old 77..... Quote Link to post
