Just after some info really. Do cat really carry parvo as commonly as its made out? How does parvo enter the dogs system does it have to be breathed in, digested, through and open wound etc? Can other animals such as ferrets, rabbit carry it?

No Parvo is a canine disease NOT feline. Its caught through infected feaces and direct contact with affected animals. I dont think other animals can pass it on, but I dont think its beyond the realms of possibility that a ferret, rabbit etc could walk through infected feaces and if a dog came in contact with it in that way, maybe they could catch it.

Dawn.

may i also add that under the right conditions the parvo virus can survive up to a year

so kennels or dogruns should be cleaned out properly with disinfectans clorine or other disinfectans

i think i know what you mean but its said wrong you cant sort parvo the jabs are to build up antibodies to help the dog fight the virus and must be given time to do their job before the dog is exposed to the virus even then their are some dogs who still get very ill even after been jabbed but if the dog comes into contact with the virus before its jabbed no amount of innocculating will help the dog .
