Jamo 90
I'd better take my whippet pup back and get a proper manly staff cross so my mates think he's hench Quote Link to post
waltjnr 7,098
Theres a great deal of ignorance about whippets with the general public, but nothing like the ignorance about them on THL, not manly enough what is manly enough, a great bull cross to suit your fragile EGO. Most dogs are manlier than a whippet, lets face it pal So you base your dogs on looks rather than working ability, quite sad really. No because I don't own feminine whippets mate oooh you bitch!!!! socks 32,253
With the amount of good strong lurcher breeds out there why would anybody want a pure whippet ... shivery paper skinned weak footed useless fukcing things ...... 2 Quote Link to post
forest of dean redneck 11,770
I'm thinking of putting a whippet over my labradoodle an calling them lapoopits . Quote Link to post
Jamo 90
I got mine purely for the acceleration needed when mooching , the lurcher doesn't have the speed to get the hedge huggers and pathway bunnys, also the possibility of racing and putting the whippet over the lurcher if he does what I want Quote Link to post

poxon 5,781
Ive been asked many a time about my greyhound and had to correct them by telling them it’s a fecking Lurcher a greyhound x breed for hunting not a greyhound I often get the look of pure disgust when I mention (hunting) I no longer stop for small talk I keep on walking as I can’t be assed unless it’s a fit bird asking then I might stop just for a laugh but as a rule these days I stop for no day walkers as I call them they have nothing to say that benefits me or my needs so I avoid like the plague 2 Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
My pup gets loads of attention of all types of people and I'd say 8 out of 10 say that's a nice wippet..... now I'm not being funny and nothing against wippets but feck off wippet he's a bloody lurcher. Today whilst on a walk someone once again said lovely wippet which I correct straight away and they followed up by saying he will do well showing my response was not fussed about the show side of things just as long as he catches a rabbit or 2 she was disgusted by that and went on to tell me how wrong it is and how such a sweet dog shouldn't be made to that. I explained they enjoy it and how I can't make him chase down a bunny it's just in there nature to do so which I was then told no it's not people like you train these poor dogs to do these barbaric actives for blood not sport. That was the end of our heart to heart as I walked off. Have any of you come across this before? I've come across Antis saying they would like 5 minutes alone with me and all that crap but this lady was set in her mind that the dogs would be made to chase a rabbit and just would not have it that it's in there nature to chase I always get Manchester terrier or Doberman pinser lol Quote Link to post
