Gona get some borax powder n get a fox mask curing aswell

Witton

youv prob read enough and picked up the proper info by now but you can do it with the industrial meths and just work in some "neats foot oil" after to stop it stiffening, put the oil on with a brush on the underside work it gently over the back of a wooden chair or such like.i did buy some stuff from the midlands game fare one year, think it was called "allum salt " or something.

Would make for some interesting write ups

Cheers big bulls  Iv actually got my mum picking me some up tomorrow

That allum salt stuff from what iv read seams to do a similar job to salt....still leaves the mask very stiff.....i like the meth idea and after reading up on it am going to try 2 testers.....1 meths and 1 turpentines....Just see how it goes

Anyway im off gota get read for a spot of ferreting.....and some daytime bunnies with the pup :whistling:

You seem to have done a good job with the skinning. Most taxidermists around here simply rub borax into the flesh side of the skin untill it'll take no more, and mount it the same day. Use plenty of pins to hold it for a few weeks while it drys. There are better methods around however and skins should be fixed properly and tanned before mounting, although there are many opinions and recipies. Look up Snowdonia Taxidermy Studios, as they've got books and chemicals and body forms. Practice makes perfect (or so they say).

A Labourer works with his hands.

A Tradesman works with his head and his hands.

An Artist works with his heart and his head and his hands.

Every taxidermist should be an artist.

All for now

Zek.
