phil wright 2
the pup is half cross x half cross.i expect it to be faster than my bitch as they usually are when its only greyhound in the mix. ive been getting out with a couple of very good 3/4 gwp crosses.i only opted for another half cross because of the rabbiting i do on fairly rough land.its the same as other crosses...weather you go for 1/2,3/4 or 5/8 is a personal choice. my bitch does go lamping but isnt all that good at it,she lacks the top gear same as some other types of half cross ive watched.this pup should be able to do better i think. they catch alot more than just the odd rabbit mate. phil wright 2
id heard good things about them but hadnt seen one on,a mate called round one night to say a pup from a gwp cross litter was available so i took one on.at the time i just planned for it to run alongside terriers out bushing and peg the odd fox(this being pre ban). as things turned out im now invited out onto good rabbiting land most weekends and get to work my bitch regularly day and night.i like this type of lurcher but they wouldnt be for everyone. the best way to describe my bitch is just like a big terrier.infact being brought up with terriers i think she believes she is a terrier.i like the way she has adapted to most forms of hunting i do.she can be out lamping rats or rabbits, ferreting the next morning and bushing with the terriers in the afternoon............very occasionally ill have her retrieving shot birds ive taken with the air rifle. probably jack of all trades, master of none but i love the shaggy thing. Big bald beautiful 1,231
Sounds a real handy cross and one you wouldnt get a lot of bother with on a walk out Quote Link to post
