Lads serious question I've a nephew with autism it seems so widespread now but when I was young I never heard of it or knew anyone with it . Is autism a new thing or is it something that's always been about ?

It's a very real thing and, because of it's varying degrees, It can be very complicated to diagnose and understand.

 

So far as autistics go, I think my cousin is one of the lucky ones - he's a high functioning autistic with asbergers.

He's very intelligent but, he's absolutely shit at building any social relationships.

 

Some have it a lot more severe. It's no one's fault - shit just sometimes happens.

I've a son who's diagnosed as ASD he's 2n half. Believe me it's real. . He may have to wear a helmet to stop him injuring himself from repeatedly headbutting walls or doors if he feels uncomfortable. Constantly walking in circles looking up all the time. Rolling his eyes back in his head. Also he's non verbal so trying to understand what he needs or wants is exhausting. So yes it's real.
