But sometimes I try to get real close to rabbits and the dieing cover gives great opportunity, especially with the right wind direction. It's been a while using a pistol too but with some practice my confidence returned.

 

Five yards for the first and ten for the second.

 

 

Had some fun with an over confident pheasant, or could he remember me from last season!

Thats great going with a pistol mate i was checking some burrows with the dogs on thursday and i couldnt see them for the 4 foot high nettles

We lived in leek for 5 years and I had some cracking woody shooting over there and lots of rabbit perms too.

The woodies were about twice the size of the few birds I get over here??

Yes. In pockets though. A lot of the island is shallow soil onto bedrock so no good for wardens but there are spots that are deeper and ideal?

Cheers but really is nothing special.

The wind is crucial and the area has been left for months to settle down.

I don't make a habit of it but early spring and autumn it's worth a try.
