socks 32,253
Well it seems that sadiq Kahn has decided that the smog around London is caused by log burning fires and is looking to ban them ......
Blackbriar 8,569
Thanks Sadiq ! It's good to know that it's nothing to do with vast amounts of congested traffic, industrial pollution or the huge office buildings that have all their lights on all night.... !
forest of dean redneck 11,531
Probably got to use sheep or camel dung as its organically sustainable.
Born Hunter 17,751
In fairness there has been quite a lot recently on the health risks of log fires. It was only a matter of time in this 'safety at any cost' society we live in. I was raised in a home heated with an open coal fire so I'm probably f****d if you believe it all! WILF 46,585
Yep, because digging oil and Gas out of the planet is much more moralistic than cutting down a tree that grows over and over again !! The 100 wood burning fires that "might" be in London will make all the difference compared to the 12 zillion cars and the power stations that provide the electric for all the trains and buildings !! What we need is nuclear waste.......that's clean !
johnny.w 316
I wonder how he would police that? CCTV of logs being delivered? Spot checks to see what's on your fire?
forest of dean redneck 11,531
Make it illegal an every f****r will be having fire pits in their gardens lol

I own 2 areas of peat bog and have my own turf cut every year, cut a bit more this year and that stands me in €500 landed back at mine and that will last me 12-18 months.......that's very healthy because at that money I'm not dying of stress about home heating bills ! Makes you wonder how mankind made it this far without an army of government ministers and council officials to regulate every aspect of life ! ............thank god we have them now is all I can say otherwise we'd be f****d wouldn't we !

NEWKID 27,048
Attached a link to a company I've been working with for the past 12 months or so, this product will do more to help with emissions than anything (other than electric motors, a long distance pipe dream IMO). This has been 8 years in the making and I've been involved in the trialling stages now up to launch, was in Hong Kong in June and it's really moving over there... it's a really exciting project!! There's tons of facts and figures but on every vehicle I have had fitted from HGV's, cars, Forklifts to generators the reduction in emissions have been huge, and no bad bye products (which has been the major stumbling block for Hydrogen systems to date).. So Sadiq Khan wants to ban Log fires, he knows all about this product, and it'll do a million times more good than banning log burners... lest see if we're allowed a free reign to market?? https://www.cgon.co.uk/ Edited September 29, 2017 by NEWKID
