night time ferreting

I've never tried night-time ferreting.

If I wanted to ferret land on which I'd got permision then I'd ferret it during the day, on the other hand if I wanted to poach then I'd use the dog or net!

Maybe I'll give it a go one moon-lit night just to see what the crack is.

I would give it a try it the warrens around here where not all in blackthorn/hawthorn hedges, bramlble/ gorse patches or in the woodlands.. Maybe when i find some nice little open warens i will give it a try.

My grandfather used to ferret rabbits at night, back in the day, my grandmother used to tell me stories about it when I was a nipper - sounds of the rabbits bumping about below ground was spooky at night apparently. He was a rough-bred poacher though, so it would have been out of necessity not from choice to do it under darkness.

I have never had a go myself though, but it would be ok if needs must I guess.
