Accip74 7,112
Just an update on the thread I started a couple of weeks ago about going to Madrid for the last Bullfight of the season........ We are not going now because my mate had his inoperable & terminal tumour removed from his brain on Tuesday! I cannot begin to explain fully the shit a certain NHS hospital has put my mate & his family through over last 3 years. This was only the second time in a year they had told him with certainty there was nothing left to they could do & again they were proved wrong from an outside specialist. It all started with a small tumour in his bowl that was a fairly straightforward procedure to remove with after care, but what ensued was an absolute clustfcuk of incompetence which involved numerous admin errors, procedure errors & seemingly unable to read fcuking scan results properly errors!......which resulted in chasing cancer around his body for the last three years. Ops on his bowl, liver, lungs & now his brain.......... It's been fcuking unbelievable!!! In October last year he was told that was it, six months to live.....too many tumours on his lungs to op. So he got rid of his Golden Eagle. After he wasn't dead by the summer, but very much alive.....they decided maybe they'd ask an outside specialist, who immediately concluded they'd fcuked up again & he only had two small tumours on one lung which were easily operable. Then he started losing his hearing a few months back & an ear specialist found a tumour on his brain & again the hospital said nothing we can do, it's too big, you're be dead by Christmas. Recently his GP & brother in law, who is also a GP put more pressure on them to release his results to another specialist............& of course he said I'll take that out no problem! This particular hospital had very bad record made public a few years back & a very good consultant friend of mine told me years ago never go there for anything serious. Fcuk knows how many people they've killed through incompetence in the past? A great advert for private health insurance I think...... ......Anyway, I've never been so happy to waste money on some plane tickets! haha .....we hope to resume our planed trip for next years new season :-)
mushroom 13,199
Mate, when your friend has recovered, if you want two to pop over to one of the smaller, local festivals let me know. I'll have a butcher's and find something you can chill out with and watch the local tw@ts get skewered from the safety of a protected bar terrace

walshie 2,804
It's not often that sheer incompetence can be classed as good news, but it is in this case. Great stuff!

waltjnr 6,961
My Mrs had a tumour the size of a large orange removed from front lobe of her brain, this was done privately at the Wellington in London, her own gp and hospital kept telling her she just had migraines, take paracetamol! Totally fine now, yearly scan to make sure nothing reappears!
