Jonjon79 13,358
Nice offer Jay I do like those 400 series carbines Ps, your skirting needs painting mate aye your bloody right there...........lol old pic and had only recently at the time of taking picture put those 2 pieces back on after building fire place and wall papering........ one job at a time.........lol all the best jay. Indeed mate I feckin hate glossing - lately I've been wallpapering, tiling, painting - the architraves, skirtings and banisters are the last bits to be done ...... They're getting done, slowly and begrudgingly I'd leave it for the missus but, her cutting in is shite. Atb mate 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
For that type of money it would be a second hand PCP in all fairness or for just under 200 notes a brand new HW99s .22 then money left over for a nice scope 99s is a great little hunting gun and in .22 as well 1 Quote Link to post
delswal 3,819
What part of Yorkshire you in pal? If you are anywhere near Pickering, try Pickering airguns for a second hand rifle, with a budget of £300 you will have a plenty of options.......scoped and ready to go Quote Link to post
overrun 5
near York. Wanting to spend money wisely! OK 177 with heavy pellets? What type of pellets? Ok what make of scope? Want to get a few opinions before I try a gun shop and thought my money might go further in a private sale? Thanks for your opinions so far. Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
The pellets will be decided by the rifle mate - they're all different. My main hunting rifle likes JSB Heavies but, one that you buy might not. ..... Testing is all part of the fun Just because I prefer heavies, doesn't mean you will - you may like lighter ones with a flatter trajectory. ...... This is a funny ol' game. Once you've got your rifle, give me a shout - I'll send you some samples of quality, different weight pellets to try Hawke scopes are a good place to start for airgun use 1 Quote Link to post
overrun 5
Just been on free ads gamo fox? no scope £200, should I be wary? need seals doing? Really like the idea of synthetic. To me this gun will be a tool of the job, no frills just effective hopefully. Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Moley has or had a phox and did very well with it but just be careful buying second hand from private sellers you don't know. For what your going to be doing and your budget I would be tempted with Mark's suggestion of a brand new smk p900 pcp as they really do get VERY good reviews from all that have them. They are light, have charge indicator and with your change from £300 you will almost get a scope and a pump if you spend carefully. Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Have alook at this link pal. This one is second hand though but a good price. http://m.pellpax.co.uk/airguns/air-rifles/pre-charged-pneumatic-pcp-air-rifles/smk-pr900w-multi-shot-22-pellet-second-hand/18804 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
OK how about a British made PCP, scope, pump, gunbag, pellets and targets? http://www.pellpax.co.uk/airguns/air-rifles/pre-charged-pneumatic-pcp-air-rifles/gamo-phox-rifle-pack-177/20215 Hows that for a bundle? Brand new, with warranty, delivered! Wish they did the .177 last year, would have had that instead of the .22 I bought. It is a good gun, basically a BSA Ultra, but that is a complete outfit!
