The best they've ever done is promise a free vote (which means their MPs can vote however they want) on repeal, a promise which they broke at the first opportunity.

 

I've said it before if they were serious about repealing they'd put it in the Queen's Speech and whip the vote (like they do for all legislation they actually want to pass) but they know it would lose them a load of votes so they make vague promises about free votes "when the time is right" knowing the time will never be right.

 

It's the same as the bullshit promises on immigration, something they know they'll never be able to achieve but they hope folk will have forgotten about it by the time the next election rolls round and they make the same promises again.

They can only make promises on non EU immigration, until we're out completely, but even the I expect that they will bargain away any closed borders, so essentially we will have the worst of both worlds. Open borders and restricted trade,and paying through the nose for the pleasure.

Regarding hunting....I don't for one minute think lurcher work will ever get back to what it was ,even if the Tories had a massive majority.

Like I've said countless times if they had put a three line whip on the vote in the last parliament it would have passed. Making it a free vote is a cop out because they have no real interest in actually repealing the bill, plain and simple.
